    Tropical Cottages are great for groups of 2-7 PAX, depending on the type of cottage.

  • The Tropical Cottages are situated behind the Beach Villas. These accommodations have a tropical garden view. Guests have their own exclusive beachfront areas located just a minute walk away.

  • Children/babies aged 2 years and below are still included in the overall headcount.

    If you are staying in the Tropical Cottages, then yes, your stay will be discounted. Your total bill will be deducted Php500 per child/baby aged 2 years and below.

    Our Beach Villas (8-10 pax) are priced at a flat rate. Thus, the age of individuals do not affect the pricing.

  • Any individual who will enter the establishment should be part of the headcount.

    However, if your driver's sole purpose is to transport you to the establishment and depart promptly afterward, the driver may not be considered part of the headcount.

  • To commute to Tropical Kanakbai from Davao City, you can choose between two options.

    A) You can take the Davao City to Mati City Bus Route from the Davao City Overland Transport Bus Terminal, which takes approximately 5 hours. For more details, visit this page.

    B) You can opt for the Davao City G-Mall Van Terminal route, which takes around 3 hours. Click here for the location of the terminal.

    Upon reaching Mati City Terminal, you can hire a tricycle to transport you to Tropical Kanakbai, which typically takes 15 to 20 minutes and costs approximately Php100 to Php150.

  • Check-in is 2pm, Check-out is 11am.

  • We maintain consistent Check-in and Check-out times to treat all guests equally and ensure a fair system.

    Early Check-in is not allowed because we have other guests checking out prior to your stay.

    Unlike resorts/hotels, this establishment is a beach homestay, we do not have a lobby or reception area for guests to wait.

    We suggest you have lunch at our local restaurants like Tsoko Bistro, Lanes Restaurant, or Kalapyahan.

    Late Check-out is also not allowed. During check-out time, comprehensive cleaning procedures, essential maintenance tasks, and inspections are conducted to ensure the rooms are in excellent condition for the next guests.

    You have access to the reef for snorkeling/other reef activities and you also have access to the sand areas adjacent to the Menzi Beach Park.

    Also, please take note of the Amihan Season (i.e. surfing season) from October-March. Regardless of the season, always exercise caution when swimming.

  • There is an area that is 15 mins away if you paddle from our reef. However, this will depend on the tidal changes of the day. If you are a beginner, we do not advise you to surf alone in that area because the reef is very jagged.

  • Tropical Kanakbai ensures the safety and security of guests through the presence of a gatekeeper, night guard, 24/7 CCTV surveillance, and a lifeguard.

  • As wonderful as pets are, we strictly can't allow them in our homestay establishment.

  • 1) Noise restrictions: The use of loudspeakers, videoke/KTV, and microphones is strictly prohibited.

    2) No Smoking and vaping inside the rooms.

    3) No fishing: The Local Government of Mati has designated Dahican Beach as an Environmentally Critical Area (ECA) and a marine sanctuary. The beachline of Tropical Kanakbai is included in the areas where fishing prohibited.

    4) No Tents allowed.

  • Our accommodations come equipped with utensils, cooking equipment, and a refrigerator. You only need to bring perishables (oil, charcoal, condiments, etc) and your cooking ingredients. There are no restaurants inside the homestay premises.
